Our comparison in between two Japanese used cars in Pakistan continues as we are discussing the features of the Honda Fit and Toyota Aqua. This discussion will help the buyers to choose the right one for their family. We have already discussed the design features of both the vehicles. Now, our discussion will be based on engines performance and prices of these cars to provide you a clear picture.

Engine and Performance

Toyota Aqua

Toyota Aqua is one of the most dominant products of Toyota with Generation 3 Hybrid Synergy Drive. This feature makes Toyota Aqua the top choice of Pakistani buyers. You will enjoy a Japanese used car in Pakistan with 1.5 liter DOHC four cylinder engine. It has 16 valve with VVT-I petrol engine with CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission).

Toyota Aqua is quite different from Prius as it has separate planetary gear reduction paths. These paths are used for internal combustion of motor generator and the engine itself. Another plus point of this car is the difference with the Prius in weight of Hybrid Powertrain which is 40 kg. Fuel consumption is 20 to 22 kilometers in a liter. The total output produced by the electric motor and INZ-FXF engine is 74 KW.

Honda Fit

Unlike the Aqua, Honda Fit provides you the opportunity to select in following engine variants:

  • 2 L L12B I-VTEC I4 petrol
  • 3 L L13B Earth Dreams I-DTEC I4
  • 5 L L15A I4 (petrol)
  • 5 L L15B Earth Dreams I-DTEC I4
  • 5 L I-DTEC diesel

Mostly, the buyers select Fit Hybrid with Earth Dreams 1.5 liter Atkinson cycle when they are in a search of hybrid hatchback. The engine is in pair with 7-speed dual clutch transmission. Intelligent power unit with lithium-ion battery makes it a perfect and fully controlled vehicle. The fuel efficiency is almost equal to Toyota Aqua as the average mileage is 19 to 23 kilometers in a liter.

Price Difference

Currently, Toyota Aqua with a model year 2012-13 is available in 1.6 to 1.8 million Pakistani rupees. For newer models, you will have to make your mind around 2.1 million. On the other hand, the Honda Fit is available in 1.85 million to 1.95 million rupees with around 30,000 kilometers mileage. For newer cars, you need to spend 2.1 million rupees.

The important aspect in price discussion is that the Honda Fit is more powerful, safer and spacious car. Toyota Aqua is a bit older car while Honda Fit is a part of the 3rd generation. Aqua is, therefore, available in relatively cheaper prices, but the mileage will be higher in these cars.

Verdict

Undoubtedly, both these Japanese used cars are amazing and you can rely on anyone. Aqua is wonderful in performance and reliability. Honda Fit, on the other hand, has a wonderful interior, larger space and stylish look. Fuel efficiency is almost the same and price difference can be ignored. Now, it is up to you so make a decision of buying a Japanese used hatchback in Pakistan and select one out of these two vehicles.
